Learning For Life Together
At Rewa Rewa School every child has access to opportunities designed to enhance their learning pathways and develop their learner agency. An integrated approach to learning is promoted through all curriculum areas.
We weave through our Curriculum learning, the "I do, We do, You do" model. This includes the teacher explicitly teaching new skills and knowledge, the tamariki practising these together with each other and the teacher, and then applying their new learning within a range of different contexts.
At the Junior level, the explicit teaching component is undertaken for 80% of each learning day, with curiosity & social skills encouraged through Learning Through Play. As each child progresses through to Year 6 explicit teaching is still undertaken with more opportunities for creative and critical thinking within the Curriculum.
