Last week schools in NZ received notification that the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education strongly recommend that all schools and kura amend their mask policy for the first four weeks of Term 3 (until 19 August) to require mask-wearing indoors for students Year 4 and above, where it will not have a significant impact on teaching and learning.
This email is to let our school community know that the Rewa Rewa school CRTeam (Covid Response Team) is currently considering this request. By Friday 29 July we will communicate to our community how these Covid-19 recommendations will be managed within our setting.
So, for now, our current ORANGE setting is “that staff and students can choose to wear a mask indoors” and therefore highly recommend that masks are worn. All visitors to our school who enter our building – classrooms & Admin block – must continue to wear a mask covering your nose and mouth.
By also using good sanitisation and ventilation practices we continue to support the wellbeing of those in our school community.
We thank you for your support.
