Covid-19 Phase 3
Updated 25 February 2022
There are no known positive cases at Rewa Rewa School today.
If your child is not a household contact of a positive case and has no Covid symptoms, continue to send them to school, as usual.
If your child has cold, flu or Covid-19 symptoms
- Get them tested
- Keep them at home until they have no symptoms
- Email or telephone the School Office immediately (not your child’s class teacher), to let us know (office@rewarewwa.school.nz or (04) 939 0186)
If your child tests positive
- Your child will need to isolate for 10 days. Start counting your 10 days from Day 0. Day 0 is the day that your symptoms started or the day that you got tested if you do not have any symptoms.
- Email or telephone the School Office immediately (not your child’s class teacher), to let us know your child’s Day 0 date (office@rewarewwa.school.nz or (04) 939 0186)
- Your child can leave isolation after 10 days from Day 0, as long as they are well — they do not need a negative test to return to school.
If your child is a Household Contact of a Positive Case
- If your child lives with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, they are considered a Household Contact and will need to isolate for 10 days. Day 0 for your child is the date the positive case receives their positive test result.
- Email or telephone the School Office immediately (not your child’s class teacher), to let us know your child’s Day 0 date (office@rewarewwa.school.nz or (04) 939 0186)
- Your child must get a test on Day 3 and Day 10 of their isolation. If they develop symptoms you should get them tested sooner.
- If your child has no symptoms following their Day 10 test, they can return to school on Day 11, even if you have not yet received the result.
- If they test positive, they will need to isolate for 10 days starting from the day they started having symptoms OR their positive test date.
If your child is a Close Contact of someone they do not live with
- At Phase 3, Close Contacts no longer need to isolate e.g. If your child has been in close contact with a positive case at school or elsewhere, but they do not live with that person, they do not need to isolate at home. Rewa Rewa School will notify you if your child is a Close Contact of someone at school. You should monitor them for symptoms for 10 days and continue to send them to school. If they develop symptoms, get them tested and they should isolate until you get their result.
