We hope this newsletter finds you all well. The staff and I have been incredibly heartened by the number of families who have been connecting with us through our online programmes. We love seeing the way that our students are using their devices so independently, as well as having our parents interacting with the tasks. Great potato interview David! Our teaching team continues to put many hours into trying to make activity tasks both fun and meaningful.
We are deliberately trying very hard to keep the information that we send to our families during Levels 3 & 4 to a bare minimum, to reduce any pressure. However, we also realise that for some, you may need further information. Please feel very welcome to email your child’s class teacher for programme support or myself, if you require more general information during Lockdown. As we change between levels please watch for the next Community newsletter communication. These will be emailed to you, as well as available on our website.
What’s On Top
LEVEL 3 BUBBLES: FOR STUDENTS RETURNING TO SCHOOL
School remains closed at Level 3. However, for those families where there is a genuine need for your child to return to school, please forward a request for your child to be booked into a bubble. This needs to be emailed to Jan Otene (principal@rewarewa.school.nz) before 5 pm each Thursday to allow enough time to organise staffing and classroom spaces. You can expect to be notified within 24 hours as to the outcome of this request. If you do not receive a reply, please contact us again. When a student is placed in a bubble their parent/caregiver will receive an information sheet as to their start date and general information.
For those children who have already been placed in a bubble, a weekly request is NOT REQUIRED. However, if your child is sick or you no longer require regular attendance, please notify the lead teacher of your child’s bubble so that we can manage their place appropriately.
NEW WEDNESDAY ONLINE LESSONS
Due to teaching staff working both onsite and still operating online programmes, all classes are now able to access Wednesday sessions for their year level during level 3. This means that online ZOOM sessions are available Monday to Friday for all those who would like to participate in these.
We remind parents to continue to monitor the welfare of your own children. If they need to have a break from online learning or do not want to complete tasks, that is fine! Please adjust each day to suit your family – with the sunny weather we have been experiencing recently, it’s a great time to get outdoors!
