Parent Communication Newsletter: Moving from Lockdown Level 4 to Level 3

Dear whānau
As we prepare to move from Lockdown Level 4 to Level 3 it is absolutely critical that our parents, staff and the board of trustees understand what this will mean for our school community.
On Monday 20 April our Prime Minister announced that schools would begin the process of working towards preparing our school sites for occupation. This letter outlines what this will look like for Rewa Rewa School families.
The Government has advised at Level 3 we should:
- Stay at home where at all possible
- Ask parents to continue to keep their children learning from home
- Allow staff with health / personal circumstances to stay at home in their bubbles
- All continue to keep our bubbles small
|
WHAT WILL THIS LOOK LIKE FOR REWA REWA SCHOOL?
|
We have only 1 – 2 teachers who are able to leave their bubbles, if required, to be onsite during Level 3. We are therefore asking that our parent community continue to keep their children and themselves safe at home in their own bubble during Level 3 Lockdown (Wednesday 29 April to Friday 8 May).
An online survey will be sent to families today, Wednesday 22 April for you to indicate your intention. We ask that you complete this by Friday 24 April to assist us with our planning and preparations. To assist you in your decision-making, we have provided an easy flowchart below. If you do not respond to this survey, we will presume that your child is staying at home and therefore will not be attending onsite.
All teaching, both at home and at school, will be delivered via our current online programmes. There will be no difference or additional learning onsite at school.
|
|
Parents who advise that their child needs to return to school will be contacted about how this will be undertaken before Wednesday 29 April. Very stringent health and welfare protocols will be followed for all people who are onsite. i.e. full daily attendance will be required; health precautions that the school will undertake take include maintaining a 1- 2-metre distance and how to access the site.
Please note – Casual “daily” drop offs or part-day attendance will NOT be catered for at all during this timeframe.
If you require support to access the online learning environment, please send an email to charlotte.hills@rewarewa.school.nz
