Rewa Rewa School COVID-19 Update #2
23/03/20 – Term 1, Week 8, 2020
Dear Whānau,
This bulletin replaces our normal newsletter this week. At this time of ongoing change and uncertainty we wanted to reach out and assure you that your children’s wellbeing and health, along with that of our staff is our top priority. This is a rapidly evolving situation and advice is being updated as we received it. Health officials and education officials are working very closely together to keep people safe and have today announced that school is closed, as from 3pm today, Monday 23 March 2020, as New Zealand prepares to enter a lock-down period of 4 weeks (at present). Today will be the last After School Care session until further notice.
This situation may continue for some time and our teachers are putting into place a plan to support our learners at home. A survey has been emailed to you requesting information about online access for your child’s learning. This week you will be emailed further instructions as to how to access learning support from the school, should you choose to do so during this time.
We will continue to communicate with you on COVID-19 via our website and the Rewa Rewa School closed Facebook page. It is essential that you download our free phone app to receive all school communications (follow the link on the homepage of our school website).
Please follow the Government’s website to stay up to date with the latest information – https://covid19.govt.nz/.
In the meantime, keep safe and look out for each other.
Warmest regards,
Jan Otene (Principal) Mark Williams (Board Chair)
